The beginning of life  is something spectacular. Therefore, I’ve created a series of sessions aimed to document a NEW LIFE.

MATERNITY

Maternity shoots are done between 32 and 35 weeks.

Prior to booking, I schedule a pre-session consultation for all maternity clients, and the number of people involved largely determines the creative fee, which starts at $75. I highly encourage partners and/or any other children to be involved in a lifestyle maternity shoot, as it makes the sessions much more fun and personable. Maternity clients also qualify for reduced price on birth and newborn sessions.

BIRTH

Documenting a baby’s birth is something rare and unpredictable. Because of the time invested in the actual session, birth photography begins at $1,000 for clients who opted not to do a maternity session. All birth shoots include final digital files and a music slideshow. Since hospitals differ in policy, I currently only accept birthing shoots at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital that are under the professional guidance of Jun-Nicole Matsushita of Bamboo Birth Services. Bamboo Birth families qualify for reduced pricing for birthing sessions, starting at $500.

NEWBORN

Newborns are best photographed within the first 14 days of life, with the first 4 days being the optimal time so babies more easily generate a “curl” to their bodies. Maternity clients should schedule a newborn shoot based on their due date and can qualify for a reduced session of $100, depending on when they book. All newborn shoots for maternity clients include 24-5×7 custom birth announcements and a music slideshow.
